Sydney Lea named next poet laureate of Vermont
Sydney Lea, a contributor to The Georgia Review for nearly three decades, has been selected to serve a four-year term as the next poet laureate of Vermont, succeeding Ruth Stone. Lea has published some two dozen poems in GR—including the 32-page "A Man Walked Out" (Summer 2004)—along with eight essays and essay-reviews. His numerous poetry collections include Young of the Year (2011), whose title piece appeared in our Winter 2008 issue, and Ghost Pain (2005). . . . more
